“Millions of Americans have been misled by the former president. They have heard only his words but not the truth, as he continues to undermine our democratic process, sowing seeds of doubt about whether democracy really works at all.”
“Remaining silent and ignoring the lie emboldens the liar,” said GOP Rep. Liz Cheney on the eve of a vote likely to ultimately oust her from today’s lousy GOP. “I will not sit back and watch in silence while others…join the former President’s campaign to undermine our democracy.”
“Today, we face a threat America has never seen before. A former president who provoked a violent attack on this Capitol, in an effort to steal the election, has resumed his aggressive effort to convince Americans that the election was stolen from him.”
And after all this, the slime trail behind Trump supplicant Kevin McCarthy grew one mile longer as he offered up this gem of world-class dissembling:
“I don’t think anybody is questioning the legitimacy of the presidential election,” McCarthy said moments after a meeting with President Joe Biden at the White House.

“Trump lied, and she had the guts to call it out. I respect her for sticking to her guns,” said Gene Wolden in Wyoming.
Next to him at a bar there, Brian Brockman added. “I don’t get it. She’s telling the truth, and she gets castigated for it. I mean, if you can’t be honest, what kind of politicians are we going to end up with?”
It’s a question the GOP needs to answer, and right quick.
